(Sacramento, CA) - Sacramento Capitals players Yasmin Schnack and Asia Muhammad, made a local appearance in advance of the upcoming World TeamTennis (WTT) season at the USTA Gold River Women’s Challenger in Gold River this past weekend. The new Sacramento Capitals team mates, who played doubles together this weekend for the first time, won the Gold River Challenger 2012 Doubles Title, overcoming Maria Sanchez and Kaitlyn Christian 6-3 and 7-6.
Yasimin Schnack, a Sacramento native, returns to the Capitals for her second consecutive season. Asia Muhammad will make her WTT debut with the Sacramento Capitals this season. She won 3 ITF Doubles Titles in 2011, and is currently playing on the ITF Women's Circuit.
"There are many legendary players who have come out of the UCLA tennis program, and Bruins All-American Schnack looks destined to become a member of that elite list,” said Capitals Managing General Partner Ramey Osborne.
We are also excited with the level of energy Asia is exhibiting in WTT pre-season play, and couldn’t have asked for a better result at the tournament this weekend,” Osborne added.
In addition to Schanck and Muhammad, the Caps 2012 roster includes marquee player, Mardy Fish, Mark Knowles, Sam Querrey and Coco Vandeweghe.

Children’s tickets will be available for $15. All matches are played at Sunrise MarketPlace Outdoor Pavilion at Sunrise Mall in Citrus Heights. Doors open at 6pm for Happy Hour, Match time is 7:35pm.
